June 2010 Honoree

Bob Sellards
On behalf of the PC Club, it is a real pleasure to extend our congratulations to Bob in recognition of this well deserved community honor. The PC Club is a Community Service organization, providing all residents everyday computer usage and learning opportunities in our Workshop and Learning Center, and Bob’s contributions personify the character of service our volunteers offer to this community.
Bob started as a Supervisor in the PC Workshop, and soon became the Manager. Working together with the PC Club Board, and all who staff the Workshop six days a week, Bob has endeavored to make it a place that offers everyone current, reliable equipment, in a pleasant, enjoyable, and helpful environment. In addition to managing daily operations, achieving these goals requires constant attention to the changing technology, equipment selection, the arrangement of the equipment – and most importantly, the recruitment, training, and management of a friendly, helpful staff. The club has almost 900 members, and on an annual basis more than 30,000 sign in to use the Workshop, attesting to the contributions that Bob has made.
Bob has also served as a teacher in our Learning Center, helping residents learn how to use and get more enjoyment from their computers, and as a trainer for the Workshop Supervisors, helping them learn new computer systems – so they, in turn, can help visiting residents. Further, Bob is one of a handful of PC Club members, who make manor calls to help residents resolve computer problems. Also Bob serves as Vice President of the PC Club, working together with the Board members to spend our money wisely, improve our operations, and help recruit volunteers.
We are well aware that Bob has other interests and serves other organizations. Accordingly, we are very appreciative of the time, expertise, and energy that he shares with us, and are very proud to congratulate him on this honor.
