Please leave:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Briefly – the nature of your problem.
(This will allow us to understand if this is a hardware or a software issue.) - The best weekday time of day to return your call.
- The age of your computer.
- The type of your computer (desktop/laptop/tablet/Chromebook).
- Does your computer have a working camera and microphone?
- The Windows operating system – usually Windows 10 or 7.
- Your email (if you wish information to be sent to you in that way).
- A volunteer will return your call and talk with you to learn more about your problem.
- Depending on your computer’s functionality,
the volunteer will ask you to do a few basic things to focus on the likely issue at hand. - If necessary, and if you have a camera and microphone, and with your agreement,
the volunteer could begin a video call that will probably include your sharing your screen.
Then you and the volunteer can see the same thing at the same time.
NOTE: This screen sharing is only showing your screen.
Sharing your screen does not give us access to or control of your computer. Other than a working camera and microphone, all you need is internet access and the ability to receive an email. There is no other complexity. - At some point along the problem solvng process, and despite our best efforts,
we may find we cannot assist you. If that happens, we will suggest you take one of the following three steps: - 1. Call one of the following independent contractor, fee-based service providers
who are supervisors in the workshop:
For details on the services each of these providers offers click here.- Nick Nikazad at 949-294-2222
- Yori Neumark at 949-705-6367
- Les Mahru at 949-244-8374
- 2. Take your computer to a retailer providing repair services.
- 3. Wait until the PC club workshop reopens.
